Proven Self - Designed Curriculum
WITTY WORLD has a proven self designed curriculum developed by its in house curriculum department which helps your child learn by doing fun things: playing games, solving puzzles, wearing costumes, beating drums and basically having fun with the other kids. Its equipment is world-class; its safety standards are out of this world.
Our philosophy is that education should promote thinking and creativity, rather than rote learning. We believe that young generation will do wonders if education let them explore their mind instead of relying on memory. Our learning is inquiry-based with emphasis on play-way methods, nurturing the curiosity and creativity of students encouraging them to take intellectual risks and developing critical and independent thinking.
The Witty World curriculum is structured and age appropriate. The day to day curriculum is well planned, designed and developed by the experts at our Research & Development centre in Mumbai. Our curriculum promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at all our schools and prepares pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. All our work is geared towards helping the children achieve the highest standards of which they are capable, in all areas.
At WITTY World we believe that there is an innate intelligence in every child. Therefore the curriculum takes into account the different learning styles of the children & the activities are designed to allow children to explore concepts & ideas using Language Intelligence, Kinesthetic Intelligence, Music Intelligence, Mathematical Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence and Naturalistic Intelligence.
Personal Social & Emotional Development
A WITTY child will learn to be self-confident, take an interest in things, know what their own needs are, tell the difference between right and wrong and be able to look after his / her basic needs. We aim to provide a happy, caring, secure and supportive environment for each child where they can feel wanted, valued and important while becoming increasingly appreciative and respectful of the thoughts and feelings of others.
Communication, Language, Literacy
A WITTY child will learn to talk confidently and clearly, enjoying stories, songs and poems, hearing and saying sounds, and linking them to the alphabet. Children are encouraged to grow into confident users of Standard English in an active but informal way. We create many opportunities to explore the skills of conversation, questioning and answering; and support the development of listening as an active and valuable skill.
Emergent writing skills are emphasized through the use of marking materials such as pencils, crayons and chalk.
Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy
A WITTY child will develop an understanding of Math through stories, songs, games and imaginative play. They will become comfortable with numbers and with ideas. They will be aware of shapes and space. Through structured play, children are encouraged to understand basic mathematical concepts which encompass shape, space and position, pattern and relationships, measures and numeracy.
Knowledge & Understanding of the World
A WITTY child will explore and find out about the world around them, asking questions about it. They will build with different materials, know about everyday technology and learn what it is used for. They will find out about past events in their lives and their amilies’ lives. They will find out about different cultures and beliefs. We provide a wide range of activities to increase children's understanding of people both now and in the past, as well as how and where they live and work. This is an early stage of the development of the skills, ideas and knowledge necessary to the understanding of history and geography.
A WITTY child will learn to move confidently, controlling their body and handling equipment. Children take part in a wide range of activities helping them to develop manipulative and motor skills, physical control, co-ordination and mobility.
A WITTY child will explore colours and shapes, trying out dance, making things, telling stories and making music. A wide range of activities are made available to all children, including Art, Craft, Design, Music, Dance, Role-play and Drama.
Our children are made to involve in science activities which excite and provide enjoyment while fostering a sense of curiosity. Such activities enable them to use all their senses, to observe the biological and physical world, to notice patterns, predict outcomes and test their ideas.
Information & Communication Technology
Information and Communication Technology is used to enhance the curriculum and give the children other dimensions to their learning.
Religious Education & Collective Worship
WITTY WORLD is non-denominational and is concerned with “Learning about Religions” and “Learning from Religion”. The faith background of both our staff and the child’s family is respected at all times. Care, Respect and Wonder form the basis of our school life together. We believe that collective worship supports and strengthens our aims. Our caring ethos and the value that we place on the development of the whole child; spiritually, morally, socially, culturally and intellectually is reflected in our worship. We respect & observe festivals of our multi cultural heritage. Therefore, we celebrate all the major festivals & special days celebrated across the world.
