RULES & REGULATIONS GOVERNING ALL ADMISSIONS AT WITTY GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS

Parents are requested to read about our school philosophy, management team, features and facilities offered, our Board affiliations, our safety parameters, our learning pedagogy and all the Rules and Regulations before applying for admission / conversion to the next class / transport facility etc. at any of our Institutions. It will be assumed that parents have read all rules and regulations if application for admission is received at any of our Institutions. These rules are applicable to all applicants and students studying in any Institution of Witty Group.

ADMISSION

  1. One who will be responsible to the Principal for the child must introduce the child for admission in person. School shall respond only to the parent / guardian responsible for introducing the child to the school at the time of admission.
  2. New admissions are granted strictly subject to availability of seats. First priority is given to sibling applications.
  3. Students coming from recognized schools will not be admitted without the original Leaving Certificate from the previous school.
  4. If students come from a recognized school outside the State they shall have their Leaving Certificate counter – signed by the Inspecting authority of that State. (Transfer Certificate)
  5. Pupils will be given admission only through proper procedure. No special reference or recommendation will be entertained or considered. Admission will not be granted if a parent is found to be influencing the admission process in any manner. Likewise, any kind of bribing / gratification to any individual for availing admission is not encouraged by the school.
  6. The school management reserves the right to reject applications received for admission without giving any reason whatsoever.
  7. Admissions will not be granted on a trial basis.
  8. The Age cutoff date for new admissions is 30th September / 31st December (as applicable as per State Laws) of each academic year. The cut off age for corresponding Grades is as follows.

Playgroup – 2 years; Nursery – 3 years; Jr. KG – 4 years; Sr. KG – 5 years; Grade 1 – 6 years

It is therefore essential that a self-attested Xerox copy of the Birth Certificate is submitted at the time of admission in support of the Declaration regarding Date of Birth.

FEES

  1. Annual fees are payable in one stroke / Installments as prescribed by the school on or before the scheduled dates.
  2. If the Installment scheme is opted, Post-dated cheques are compulsory for all installments for one academic year fees. Likewise, parents may opt to submit ECS Mandate duly signed by the respective bank in favour of the school for all the balance installments for the due academic year fees in the prescribed format.
  3. Cash against PDC submitted can be deposited one week prior to the scheduled date of the cheque. Cheques will be deposited on the scheduled date without any advance intimation.
  4. Cheque Bounce / ECS Bounce / Stop Payment charges will be payable by the parent in case any cheque is dishonored for any reasons whatsoever.
  5. School does not encourage fee payments by cash. Kindly opt for digital methods like google pay / online payments. It will be the responsibility of parents to collect receipts for the cash payments made to the school office. School will not entertain any complaints pertaining to fee payments if cash payment receipt is not collected by the parents.
  6. Kindly do not make any fee payment of any nature to any of the school staff including teachers / authorities. Kindly make all payments only with the front office. School does not take any accountability of payments made to any staff member without collecting due receipt.
  7. Fees once paid are not transferable / adjustable or refundable under any circumstances. Requests received towards the same will not be entertained by the school office.
  8. Parents will be expected to pay separately to the school for Outstation tours, excursions, picnics outside city limits, Eumind or any other Student Exchange Programmes, Entry Fees for various competitions and Fees for Public / Competitive / Board Examination Fees / Checkpoint Examinations Fees as applicable from time to time. Also, parents will be required to meet the expenses towards textbooks, notebooks, school uniform, sports uniform, sports accessories, cafeteria expenses, etc. at their end.
  9. Likewise, if parents opt for extracurricular activities, fees as applicable shall be payable separately.
  10. Pre Primary Parents should expect a hike of around 10% to 12% in the annual fees in each respective class every year till Sr. KG.
  11. Pre Primary parents will have the first right of refusal for admission to our High School. Our High School fees are on the higher side and parents will have to pay the applicable High School Fees if they desire admission to Grade 1. Thereafter, Parents should expect a hike of around 10% in the annual fees each year till Grade 10.
  12. Yearly Fees for new admissions are subject to change at the discretion of the school Management.
  13. Transport Fees, (if opted for) will be payable term wise only. GST as / if applicable will be payable additionally.
  14. Allotment of Shifts & Divisions will be at the sole discretion of the School Administrative Department. Likewise, allocation of timings for different Grades will be at the sole discretion of the school administration department.
  15. Change in Batch / Division / Shift is not allowed under normal conditions. In special cases, the School Principal may permit the same by charging a transfer fee.(Rs. 3000/- / Rs. 5000/- as per school).
  16. Change in Board / School Branch is equally not allowed under normal conditions. In special genuine cases, the School Principal may permit the same by charging a transfer fee of Rs. 5000/-. Difference Fees as applicable for the said Board / Branch will be payable in such cases.
  17. A Bonafide Certificate will be issued after one week of receiving the application. Rs. 250/- will be charged for such certificates.
  18. Duplicate I-card / Parent l-card / extra Parent I-card etc. will be charged @ Rs. 250/- and will be issued within one / two weeks of receipt of such payment.
  19. Locker facility (optional, if available) for the students may be opted by paying a yearly fee of Rs. 1000/-. At the end of each academic year, the locker has to be vacated and handed over to the school. 
  20. Transport Fee (optional) is payable separately, term wise and for the whole year as applicable at the time of admission / raising the Invoice. Bus stop wise fees will be charged by the transport department. Last minute transport applications are not entertained by the school.
  21. If Admission-is cancelled in the midterm, No Dues Certificate and Leaving Certificate will be issued only after clearance of the fees for the whole year. It usually takes a week to issue LC / TC after all formalities are completed by the parent.
  22. GST and other statutory taxes as and where applicable will be payable separately.
  23. School Management reserves the right to modify the fees from time to time for all new applicants.
  24. The School Administration Department reserves all rights to shuffle students of various divisions of a Class each year to maintain the girl – boy ratio and cosmopolitan culture of the classroom. Parents are not allowed to interfere with such decisions taken by the school administration. Likewise, parents are not permitted to demand a particular division for their ward or a particular teacher for their ward’s class.
  25. School reserves the right to suspend the services to the parents and students, if the fees remain outstanding for over a month. Hall tickets for semester and Board examinations will be issued only after clearing outstanding dues if any. Also, our mobile app / software will issue reminders for outstanding fees for a couple of weeks and will block access to the mobile app thereafter, if the outstanding fees remain unpaid.

COMPLIMENTARY STUDENT KIT

A Student Kit may be provided complimentary to all the students on the day of Parent Orientation, which will be conducted one / two weeks before the commencement of the first day of school. This kit is provided to all students in order to maintain uniformity among students and to avoid the usage of fancy and expensive items in the school.

Parents are expected to check all the items before taking the delivery of the said kit. Once the kit is handed over to the parents the school shall not be responsible for the quality of the items in the kit and shall absolve itself from all the issues pertaining to the wear and tear of the items in the kit. No complaints related to the selection, colour, size, design, shape, feel, quality, quantity etc. of the items given in the kit shall be entertained by the school. The School shall not entertain any request for replacement or exchange of the items in the kit after the delivery of the said kit is taken by the parents.

Also, parents are expected to ensure that they label the child’s kit with the proper name of the child, class and division with a marker pen to avoid the same getting mixed up with other kits belonging to other students.

SCHOOL DIARY 

Students are expected to bring the school diary to school every day. If a student loses the diary, a replacement must be purchased by the parents from the school after consulting the class teacher at applicable rates.

Parents/Guardians are expected to fill in the details and sign on the prescribed places mentioned in this diary. Any diary without the student’s details and parents’ signature shall be considered invalid and all communication made by the parents through such diaries, if any, shall not be considered by the school.

However, admission in the school and school governance will be subject to and as per the rules mentioned here and in the school diary.

SCHOOL BOOKS AND UNIFORMS

  1. School does not engage itself in selling books and uniforms. Parents are free to procure the same from the local market at their own discretion as per the book list and uniform specifications provided by the school.
  2. If books stalls / uniform stalls are arranged by the school in the school premises on request from the parents, parents will have to strictly adhere to the timings given to them for such school purchases to avoid rush and chaos. In such cases, parents have to understand and accept the fact that the school is merely a facilitating medium in arranging for various book stalls and uniform stalls for the convenience of its students and parents. All Purchase deals / invoicing etc will be strictly between the parent and the vendor and the school will be in no way responsible for any substandard services / delays / quality of the uniforms / books.
  3. Books and Uniform Sale will happen only on specified dates and specified timings as informed by the vendor.
  4. There will be no compulsion of any sort on any parent to procure books / uniforms from such outsourced vendors. Parents will be free to procure the same from the local market at their own discretion as per the book list and uniform specifications provided by the school.
  5. Parents must check the book quality and uniform quality before purchasing and no complaints thereafter will be entertained by the school. Parents are expected to approach the vendor directly for any quality issues and not the school office.
  6. It is expected that parents send children to school with proper books as per the time table and in neat, clean and ironed uniform.

ATTENDANCE & LEAVE

  1. All students are expected to attend school on all school working days and for the full day. Half day applications will not be entertained.
  2. Students must be present in the school after holidays / vacations on the reopening day of the school. They must also remain present in the school on the last working day of the school, preceding the holidays /vacations.
  3. No leave of absence is granted except on previous written application from parents or guardians and only for valid reasons as approved by the School Principal.
  4. All students are expected to report 10 minutes before the scheduled school time. School gate shall close sharp at the scheduled time.
  5. Students reporting after the scheduled time will be marked late in the school diary. Three late remarks will lead to imposition of penalty and strict action against the student.
  6. A minimum of 85% of the total attendance of the academic session would be necessary to appear for the final examination and subsequent promotion. Shortage of attendance up to 15% may be condoned in case of genuine illness provided an authentic medical certificate is submitted. However, the decision of the school Principal will be final and binding in this regard.
  7. If a student fails to appear for any test, examination, practical, project work, he /she will be considered as failed in that test, examination, practical, project work. No retest / re exam will be conducted. If the absence is due to serious illness then an application for such leave supported with a medical report should be submitted to the Principal and an average of the student’s performance will be calculated. Principal may also decide to conduct a Re-Test if required. However, the decision of the school Principal will be final and binding in this regard.
  8. Parents should make a request for leave in advance only when they are convinced of its absolute necessity.
  9. If a student is absent owing to illness, the student must in return bring a note written by the parent or guardian. In case of a longer illness, i.e. lasting more than three days, the Principal should be informed and a Medical Certificate should be attached.
  10. The school reserves the right to refuse permission for any leave if it is for a prolonged period of time or if it occurs at an inappropriate time of the school year.
  11. Students should not be sent to school if they have fever or any other contagious disease. All Covid norms, protocols and directives issued by the Government have to be strictly adhered to by the entire parent and student community.
  12. During school hours no student is allowed to leave the classroom without the permission of the teacher or until the class is over. Written permission of the Principal or supervisor is required for the student to leave the premises during the school hours. A breach of these rules will be viewed seriously.
  13. Parents are requested not to ask their children to come back from school before the school gets over except in case of real necessity in which permission should be obtained previously in writing.
  14. It may be noted that children will not be sent home even in an emergency with anyone / third person who might come to pick them up during school hours without a written request from the parent or guardian.
  15. Parents are requested to ensure that their children arrive and leave school punctually. Any student who is late in attending school should bring with him/her a written application from his / her parent/ guardian for late attendance. Strict action will be taken against habitual late comers.
  16. Syllabus covered during the student’s absence will not be repeated.
  17. Students who remain absent during the school day will not be entitled for any support session post or preschool on the day of absence except under medical condition with prior approval of the section head.

SCHOOL UNIFORM & APPEARANCE

  1. Students are expected to dress and behave in a manner appropriate to the membership of the school and should observe the prescribed uniform regulations throughout the school day and on occasions as announced by the school.
  2. Neat and tidy school uniforms recommended by the school with Identity cards must be worn daily by the students. Students without the same will not be permitted in.
  3. Socks and shoes as per sample approved by the school must be worn by the students. Black colour belt, wrist watch with black strap and black hair accessories as recommended by school must be worn.
  4. Students are required to be neat and clean in their general appearance. Girls should have their hair plaited or tied neatly and boys should have their hair trimmed. Hair should not be colored, tinted or highlighted. The school believes in simplicity and students are not permitted to wear ostentatious or expensive items like jewelry, fancy watches, wristbands or similar accessories in the school. Only plain black colour hair bands, ribbons, rubber bands, belts etc. are allowed.
  5. Plain Navy Blue Sweaters/Cardigans should only be used as recommended by the school.  No other colour or fancy designs will be allowed in the school premises.
  6. Finger nails must be cut short and kept clean.
  7. The sports uniform prescribed by the school is mandatory during P. Ed. lectures.

BAN ON USE OF MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phones and other portable devices like I-pads, I-pods, Tablets etc. are not allowed and should not be seen in the school campus at any time. The school shall not be responsible for any incidences of theft or devices getting misplaced or misused. Also, all such devices, if found, will be confiscated by a member of the school staff and will only be returned back to parents later by the Principal only after calling them to the school.

In case, you need to contact your ward during the school hours for some emergency, you are requested to call up school reception that would pass on the emergency messages to students.  The ban on mobile devices and phones is also applicable during break times and while traveling in the school bus.

Under special circumstances, the School Principal may allow a specific child to carry a simple mobile phone which will be deposited with the school reception on entering the school premises and collected post school hours from the school reception.

School will take strict action against all sorts of cybercrime including slandering school and its staff in any of the social networking sites by the students in and out of the school. Cyber bullying will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against students found involved in such activities inside and outside school premises.

SCHOOL POLICY ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE

Our school has a very stringent policy towards substance abuse (Inhaling / consuming of alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, paan masala, gutkha, prohibited drugs in any form or quantity etc. excluding prescribed medical reasons) in the school premises or outside that has been designated as the school activity area (temporary or permanent) including during excursions, picnics, school tours, outdoor events, during transport etc.

If any student is found indulging in any of the above mentioned substance abuse, first time offenders will be asked to give a written apology countersigned by the parent followed by suspension from school for a week and all school related assignments will have to be completed independently and submitted to the teachers. Course work missed will not be repeated and the student will have to visit the counselling department and attend a minimum of 5 counselling sessions. Repeated offenders will be permanently rusticated from school and will be dealt with as per Law of land. 

STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council is an elected group of students who represent the entire student body. The Council is headed by two Presidents – a girl and a boy candidate. The other members of the Council include the House Captains and Vice Captains, the Sports Captain, the Cultural Captain, and the Prefects.

The primary objective of having a Student Council is that the student community is appropriately and correctly represented before the management and the faculty. The Council will work in partnership with school management and staff and parents for the benefit of the school and students. Council will also assist the faculty in maintaining discipline. The Council will be proactively involved in organizing various activities in the school. Council Presidents will be given the opportunity to address the audience at all major events of the school.

The Student Council is elected through a fair democratic process every year. Students are given the chance to file their nominations, campaign for themselves, and digitally vote through G-forms. An investiture ceremony is conducted during the beginning of the academic year for the newly elected members to take charge. Parent interference in the said election process is strictly not permitted.

HOMEWORK

Parents are requested to ensure that homework is done regularly by the students. By ‘Homework’ the school refers to the entire gamut of academic follow-up that takes place at home and not necessarily just written work. At the Primary School level, student’s time out of school should be their own time in which they pursue their own interests, hobbies and play. Often students are tired from the intensive teaching they have had during the day. Therefore, the school does not set excessive homework. However, at the Secondary level students are expected to submit their completed homework / worksheets on scheduled dates itself. Students won’t be allowed to participate in class sessions unless the home assignments are completed. Also, students will not be allowed to do tuition homework during school hours.

SCHOOL CAFETERIA

WIS believes in providing healthy and fresh snacks. Our school cafeteria provides a wide variety of appetizing, nutritious foods at a reasonable price. The canteen staff takes utmost care of hygiene and cleanliness. Students are not allowed to carry food from the canteen to the classrooms and school buses. Wastage / spilling over of food will invite disciplinary action. Students are expected to follow etiquettes and table manners during break times. They are expected to order only the food they require and not to waste food.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

  1. The School recognizes that Birthdays are special occasions for students and parents, and requests that birthday celebrations at school are kept simple.
  2. The school does not permit distribution of candies, toffees, chocolates or any take-home presents for students or teachers.
  3. Parents are permitted to order a half / one kg. Eggless – cream less cake with our Bistro Cafeteria staff at applicable charges. Order must be placed at least a week in advance.
  4. Parents won’t be allowed to participate in the celebration in the classroom.
  5. Birthday cakes should be ordered from the school canteen by placing the order in advance.
  6. On their birthday, students are free to wear clothes of their choice that conform to norms of modesty.
  7. Photography and Videography of the celebration are strictly not allowed.
  8. Birthday bumps are considered a friendly gesture often practiced by close family and friends. However, it stands the risk of students getting carried away resulting in accidental injuries. So as a school policy to avoid such untoward accidents we believe in banning such activities and strict disciplinary action will be taken if students resort to these practices.

STUDENT MOTIVATION PROGRAMME FOR PRIMARY STUDENTS

To appreciate and encourage good behavior, good performance and to recognize core competency skills and talents hidden within students, the school has introduced a Student Motivation Program by rewarding students with bookmarks on various competency life skill areas.

School Principal will reserve the right to cancel, suspend or even withdraw the awards granted to any particular child for gross misconduct or any other serious offense committed by the child. No parent involvement will be tolerated in selection of students for the reward.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The school arranges for extracurricular activities for students at an additional cost post school or during vacations. However, the school shall be in no way responsible for the dealing between the coaches / instructors / trainers and shall not guarantee any kind of refund of fees, results etc as may be highlighted by the course conductors. No Parent shall be allowed to enter the school premises when the course / classes are on. Parents will not be allowed to sit and wait for the students in the school premises. No transport facility shall be provided by the school for any extracurricular activity or support sessions facilitated by the school.

EVENTS / CULTURAL PROGRAMMES / OTHER ACTIVITIES

The school may organize various events / programmes in the interest of its students and parents. However, as the school does not charge separately for any such events, programmes or activities, the organizing of such events / programmes / activities shall be at the sole discretion of the school management. Also, the manner in which such events are to be organized shall be decided by the school Principal only. Parents shall not demand or pressurize the school to organize any event. The school also reserves its rights to change / amend / postpone / prepone or cancel any such event at the last moment without any notice. The school shall not be responsible for the distribution and quality of costumes required for events. Parents are requested to take issues regarding the same to the vendors authorized by the school only.

SPORTS DAY

Every year Sports Days are organized by the school to provide a platform for the students to showcase the spirit of sportsmanship. The school encourages all its students to participate in the sports meet organized by the school.  Parents of the pre-primary section may be invited to participate in the sports day celebrations. In the Pre-primary section, all students are provided with medals and Certificates of Participation.

Primary and secondary students are divided into four houses and competitions and races are conducted house-wise. Winners will be given medals event-wise. Parents are requested to cooperate with the school for conducting initial elimination rounds during the school hours. Sports days will be separate for the junior and the senior school children as it takes place on different days. Parents may be invited only on special occasions.

School may conduct Sports Days grade wise or section-wise in the school ground or other grounds at the sole discretion of the school management. School may also decide to conduct such sports meets every alternate year or each year as per the academic workload for different grades. Decisions taken by the School Principal will be final and binding in this regard.

The school reserves its right to change/amend/postpone/prepone or cancel sports days at the last moment without any notice in case of unavoidable circumstances like shortage of working days, unavailability of a venue, weather conditions, lockdowns, etc. Parents shall not demand or pressurize the school to organize sports days under such conditions.

CLUBS

School has initiated various Clubs to give students an opportunity to showcase and hone their talents. Clubs will enable students to shape their personal interests and hobbies and also improve their leadership as well as social skills. Students will be running these clubs with teachers and mentors acting as advisors and facilitators. Each club is autonomous with its own Executive Leadership team and will meet at least twice a month.

Students from Grades VI to XII can join any of the clubs by filling up the prescribed form. The students who have expressed their interest would then be invited for a brief orientation to understand the goals and objectives of the clubs after which the students can sign up for a maximum of any two clubs for the semester. Throughout the semester the clubs will work towards their specific objectives. Students are encouraged to attend the club activities regularly. The school reserves the right to add, amend or delete club rules from time to time. Best performers from the clubs will be considered for representing the school in inter-school competitions, however, the final decision will be at the discretion of the School Principal. Club executive leadership will have the right to recommend action against any student who violates Club rules.

ANNUAL DAY

  1. Annual Days are organized by the school to provide the opportunity for every student to perform on the stage in front of a larger audience. The school encourages all students to participate in the annual days and will try to give ample opportunity for each one of them to be on the stage but parents are not allowed to demand any specific role or stage position for their ward. 
  2. Parents may choose to opt out of the Annual Day Celebrations by giving a valid reason to the School Principal.
  3. School may conduct Annual Days gradewide or section-wise in the school halls, school outdoors, or outside auditoriums or grounds at the sole discretion of the Principal / School Management.
  4. The school reserves its right to change/amend/postpone/prepone or cancel annual days at the last moment without any notice in case of unavoidable circumstances like shortage of working days, unavailability of a venue, weather conditions, lockdowns, etc. Parents shall not demand or pressurize the school to organize annual days under such conditions. 
  5. The class incharges shall recommend specified costumes for each act but shall not be responsible for the distribution and quality of costumes hired for the annual day. Parent volunteers will be appointed as Costume In-charges and the cost/rent of the costume will be borne by the individual parent / student at actuals. However, in case any parent wants their ward to perform without the specified costume, he/she shall be allowed to perform in school uniform. Parents will cooperate with the school for practice sessions and dress rehearsals as and when scheduled.
  6. Entry for annual days will be through E-Invitation only.  Parents are expected to attend the entire annual day and wait back till the last performance to encourage all performers. School may impose strict rules to discourage parents from leaving the venue before the last performance. Also, school may not handover the students to their parents till the last performance is over. Parents are expected to cooperate with all such decisions taken by the Annual Day Committee and Incharges.
  7. Performance will not be repeated for students and parents reporting late to school after their scheduled performance is over.
  8. Parents are not allowed to roam around and walk in front of the stage during the performances. Likewise, eatables may not be permitted in the seating area as per venue rules and parents will have to cooperate with the same.
  9. Transport Service will not be provided for annual days and rehearsal days. Parents will have to pick up and drop their children on their own.
  10. Parents are required to follow all the rules of the venue. Also, parking facilities will not be available at the Annual Day venue. Parents are expected to keep the same in mind and plan their commute. 

GENERAL RULES

  1. There is one fundamental school rule, that all students at all times will behave well and sensibly and show courtesy, consideration and respect for others and do nothing that will bring the school’s name into disrepute.
  2. The school reserves the right to make changes in the School Rules, which will be communicated to students and parents from time to time by uploading the same on the school website and shall be binding to all. Parents are expected to check the school website for all updates in the school rules.
  3. All School Rules apply to all students from the time they leave home for school until they have returned home at the end of the school day, or while taking part in any activity organized by, or related to the school.
  4. Although the school is not responsible for the behavior of its students outside its premises, due notice will be taken of reports of misbehavior and disciplinary action will be taken against them if the report is substantiated on proper enquiry.
  5. Irregular attendance at school, physical violence in school or school bus, misbehavior with fellow students, habitual laziness, cyber bullying, disobedience, dishonesty or conduct, injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student. In such cases the decision of the Principal shall be final.
  6. Any damage done in the class or in the school premises has to be made good. Pupils must take care of the equipment that has been lent for their use.
  7. The school authorities will not be responsible for the loss, damage or robbery of pupil’s belongings. It is not advisable for the pupils to bring money or valuable articles unnecessarily to school.
  8. Students are expected to carry books as per the daily time table. No books (other than text or school library books), Newspapers or periodicals may be brought to the school without the Principal’s permission.
  9. No pupil is exempted from Games and Physical Training without a Medical Certificate. The period of exemption should be specified.
  10. Pupils of this school are strictly forbidden to buy anything from the street hawkers. Students are expected to bring homemade vegetarian food in their tiffin and are allowed to make use of the canteen facility whenever required. Non vegetarian food / egg is strictly not allowed in the school premises.
  11. Spoken English is encouraged in the school and within the school premises. All students are expected to speak strictly in English only, once they wear the school uniform.
  12. No gift or any demonstration to the teacher or any other staff is allowed. (Even on birthdays, Children’s day, Teacher’s day, Diwali, etc.)
  13. Kindly ensure that the child’s name is written (with a marker) on all the items used by the child (Bag, Cap, Shoes, Tiffin Box etc) in school.
  14. Parents should laminate the parent I-card or use plastic pouches provided by the school.
  15. Parents are expected to check the School Bag / School diary daily. It contains important information for them.
  16. The School Dress has been designed keeping in view the taste of children. Ensure that it is clean and hygienic.
  17. Fancy Tiffin boxes are prohibited. Make use of Tiffin boxes provided by the school only. Likewise, Tiffin boxes should not be too big. Wafers, sweets etc should not be packed in a Tiffin box. We celebrate each Friday as a Fruit Day. Kindly pack fresh fruits in your child’s Tiffin on each Friday.
  18. Eggs / Non vegetarian food is strictly not allowed in the school premises.

BUS RULES

  1. Transport service is an optional service facilitated and outsourced by the school with its own fleet for the convenience of its students.
  2. The school bus facility available to the student cannot be expected or demanded as a matter of right. The Transport Department at their own discretion has the right to disallow any student from availing the bus facility.
  3. Students availing the bus facility will be provided with a bus no. pick up and alighting stop no. Generally the bus timings will operate within 10 to 15 minutes of the pickup and alighting time. Parents are requested to accommodate the same.
  4. Any change in the bus timings will be notified to the parent by the Transport Department.
  5. Students will have to board and alight the school bus at the respective stops allotted to them only. The Transport Dept. reserves the rights to allot the stops.
  6. Parents are not allowed to argue with our transport staff for adding / deleting a particular bus stop or for making any changes in the established route set up / timings by the transport department. Parents are free to opt for private transport / self pick up drop in cae the route / timings set up by the transport department are not feasible to them.
  7. Students while travelling on the school bus must maintain discipline. Any student guilty of misconduct will not be allowed to avail the bus facility. Eating inside the bus is strictly not allowed.
  8. Students need to maintain complete discipline in the school bus. Any kind of bullying, destructive behavior, abusive language, violence in the bus and arguments, altercation and physical fights with outsiders will lead to immediate termination of the school transport for the student and necessary disciplinary action will be taken.
  9. A student shall be refused the bus facility if involved in damage to the bus property. Besides, the damage done will have to be compensated by the student / parent.
  10. Discontinuation of bus facility will only be allowed term wise. However cancellation should be intimated before the next installment date. Cancellation will not be allowed once the terms start. Bus facility cannot be discontinued for any particular month.
  11. In case of sudden breakdown of any bus for any reasons whatsoever, the school transport department will reserve its rights to club two bus route students in one bus and transport children safely. This may lead to delay in the allotted timings and parents will have to bear the delay in such situations. Likewise, if the bus break down has happened in the middle of the route, our transport staff will call up / send emergency messages to the parents and in such situations, parents will have to personally come and / or manage to pick up / drop children to and fro from school.
  12. Transport facilities shall not be available for special events days and other activities/ events that school may plan on holidays/ during vacations.
  13. Students / parents will not have any transactions/ altercation/ physical fight with the bus staff.
  14. Bus employees are not authorized to change / add bus stops.
  15. The school has taken utmost care for the safety and convenience of the students. Any suggestion / complaint regarding the transport service is to be made in writing strictly to the Transport Department and the same shall be entertained by the Transport Department only. The School Management and School Principal shall in no way interfere with the decisions taken by the transport Dept. for the smooth functioning of the transport service of the students.
  16. School does not allow last minute requisitions from Bus parents for physical pick up from school on any particular day. In case of emergency also, it is important that any change to the usual pick-up/ drop routine is intimated to the transport in charge a day in advance. Bus crews have been instructed to bring back to the school any student who is not collected by the authorized person at the designated bus stop at the designated timing.
  17. No child will be handed over to an unknown person / to anyone without the parent I-card which must be produced at the time of pick up. Parents should not argue with the transport staff for not carrying / producing their Parent I-Card.
  18. Please cooperate with the drivers and attendants. It takes nearly two weeks to set the transport route. Hence, there is a possibility of mismatch of timings given to you at the start of the year during POP.
  19. No request will be entertained for temporary change in bus number / route / timings.
  20. School does not promote private transport. Parents are requested to check the credentials of private transporters before engaging them. Ensure that female attendant is available in the private transport throughout. Parents are requested to intimate school in writing about the private transport, if opted for and submit due undertaking along with the same. School shall not be in any way responsible for the private transport opted by the parents and parents shall keep the school indemnified from all claims / liabilities and shortage / deficiency of service due to the private transport. School does not take any responsibility for students travelling by private transport.

WALKER PARENTS

  1. Parents coming to pick up and drop their children on their own have to strictly abide by the rules laid down by the school for smooth transition of children.
  2. Parking is not available in and around the school premises.
  3. Kindly do not drive / park your personal vehicle or outsourced van in the lane leading to school premises. Please park your vehicle at a far off distance and walk down to the school for pick up / drop.
  4. Van drivers are not allowed to park their vehicles outside the school gate and wait for children pick up. This is strictly not allowed as it leads to unmanageable traffic chaos. Van drivers should be told to strictly park their vehicles at a far off distance and then come walking to pick up children. School does not take responsibility for any student picked up by Van drivers or their substitutes.
  5. Taking a U Turn in front of the school gate creates a lot of traffic. It is compulsory for parents and van drivers to go straight and then take a U Turn from a distance and not from in front of the school building.
  6. Do not gather at the school gate before the scheduled pick up time. Walker children will leave the school only after all the school buses leave the premises. Please have patience till all bus children leave the premises.
  7. Make a note of the Gate Number from where your child will be handed over. Please queue at the respective gates only.
  8. Wait for the teacher’s announcement for you to pick up your child. Have patience. Allow other parents whose children are coming out to pick up their children as per the announcements.
  9. Pre Primary, Grade 1 & Grade 2 parents must keep their Parent I- Card handy for security to check and allow you to leave. Please do not argue with our security guards and teachers who will be strict with producing Parent I- Card during transition.
  10. Parents are strictly not allowed to talk to teachers or transition in-charges during transition. Likewise, parents are strictly not allowed to check the child’s bags, chit chat with other parents during transition. It is required that you leave the school premises immediately after picking up your child. Parents are strictly not allowed to gather and chit chat with other parents once they have picked up their child. Parents are not allowed to wait outside the school gate and keep chit chatting, talk to teachers or transition in-charges during transition. It is required that you leave the school premises immediately after picking up your child.
  11. School administration will not accept any kind of misbehavior, argument in implementation of the above mentioned points. Our Security Staff has been strictly instructed to implement the above. Likewise, no complaints will be entertained by school if security is forced to be stern and strict in implementing the above.
  12. School does not take responsibility for any student picked up by Van drivers or their substitutes.
  13. Students are strictly not allowed to drive /ride their own vehicles to school without a valid license. Parents shall be solely responsible for their wards driving vehicles without license.

PARKING OF PERSONAL VEHICLES

  1. Parking is not available in and around the school premises.
  2. Parents are requested to ensure that there is no parking chaos outside the school premises and in the lane during the transition time / PTM.
  3. Parents are requested to park their vehicles at a far off distance (minimum 100 meters) from the school and walk down to the school while coming to pick up and drop their children.
  4. Parents should ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the residents in the lane due to traffic congestion caused by wrong parking. The school management and Principal shall be in no way responsible if the parents have any damage / arguments / altercation / physical fight / verbal abuse / deflation of tyres with / by the residents in the lane in this regard and under no circumstances shall the school management and Principal get involved into such incidents caused due to wrong parking.
  5. School does not take any responsibility for any penalty levied by RTO or any authority for wrong parking of vehicles. Likewise, school will not be held responsible if parents are found getting involved in physical fights / verbal abuses with each other or any outsider outside the school premises because of parking / traffic issues.

DISCIPLINE

School will see that the following principles of discipline are observed:

  1. Regularity and implicit obedience in the school.
  2. Politeness and courtesy of speech and conduct as well as cleanliness of dress and person are inculcated.
  3. Pupils are made to realize that they are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in the school but also for the general behavior outside.
  4. Disrespect towards school policies/ instructions/circulars will not be tolerated.
  5. Students will not be allowed to enter the school premises without ID card and appropriate school uniform.
  6. Parents are given to understand that they cannot dictate to the Management and that the Management has a right to say on what conditions it will admit or retain pupils in the school or cancel the admission.
  7. Any pupil who is persistently insubordinate or is repeatedly or willfully mischievous or is guilty of malpractice in connection with examinations or has committed an act of serious indiscipline and/or misbehavior, or who in the opinion of the Head of the school has an unwholesome influence on fellow pupils or whose guardians show little interest in the progress of their wards may be removed from the rolls. The removal may be temporary or permanent, according to the gravity of the offense.
  8. Cleanliness/hygiene must be maintained. It is important to us at school that the child is safe from possible illnesses and diseases.
  9. Pupils are expected to be punctual. Latecomers are liable to be sent home at the Parent’s own risk.
  10. No pupil who has been absent from school or late will be admitted to the class without the Principal’s/Supervisor’s signature.
  11. At the first bell the pupils will enter their respective classes. At the second bell, they will stand up in silence for the school assembly prayer.
  12. Pupils are expected to come to school provided with all that is necessary for their day’s work. Borrowing or lending of pens, pencils, rubbers, rulers, instrument boxes etc. is discouraged.
  13. Personal cleanliness and hygiene are greatly recommended to all. The students should be particularly careful not to throw any papers, seeds, etc. anywhere in the school premises. They should use the baskets and bins especially provided for this purpose.
  14. During the absence of the teacher, each Class Monitor is responsible for the order and discipline of the class.
  15. Pupils from one class should not visit their friends in any other class during their recess or other timings unless required.
  16. Students must speak strictly in English only in the school premises, school bus and even during any school functions conducted outside the school premises.
  17. Silence must be observed in the corridors and on the stairs during class hours. There should be NO TALKING at the change of periods.
  18. Silence must be observed outside the Principal’s office.
  19. Running, playing or shouting inside the school building is never allowed.
  20. No student will be permitted to wear any other clothes except the prescribed complete school uniform. This is to maintain standardization amongst all students.
  21. No Physical violence of any sort will be tolerated and any such complaint will be addressed very strictly.
  22. Students are strictly not allowed to use school name or logo for creating social networking groups or inviting fellow students to join such groups.
  23. Students are expected to use social media wisely and judiciously. Strict action will be taken against students who misuse social media, post or share negative / vulgar comments against school, teachers or peers inside and outside school premises.
  24. Any sort of manipulation/malpractice during an examination will disqualify the student from promotion to the next grade.
  25. Students must maintain discipline in the elevators. Misbehavior with the support staff in the elevators, school premises and in the school bus will invite disciplinary action. Children and parents are allowed to use the elevators strictly for going to the upper floors. Children and parents are expected to use the staircase and walk down to the lower / ground floor. Also, children at times, when the elevators are out of order for any reasons whatsoever, will have to use the stair case only for moving up and down within the school premises. Complaints pertaining to the same will not be accepted by the school management.
  26. Students must not play in the classrooms during break times or between lectures. Any damage to school property needs to be compensated immediately and will invite strict disciplinary action against the student.
  27. Students are strictly prohibited from throwing things at each other like ID cards, jackets, bottles, shoes etc. which may cause injuries to each other. Any such instance reported will invite suspension of the student involved for a period of not less than seven days.

LIBRARY RULES

  1. Silence and order must be maintained in the library.
  2. Only one book at a time will be issued on appointed days.
  3. Library books are issued only to the students of Grade 1 and above.
  4. No pupil may keep the book with him/her for more than 7 days.
  5. A book may be issued for a further period of 7 days, if there is no demand for it by any other student. All library books must be returned by the end of February / March of that academic year. The Librarian should be notified by the borrower if the book is damaged before accepting the book. Otherwise the borrower will be held responsible and the pupil will have to make good the damage.
  6. If a student loses a book the student will have to replace the book or pay a fine equal to the value of the book along with the penalty.
  7. Any student who infringes the Library Rules will be liable to pay a fine or be debarred from the Library.
  8. Librarians will have the sole authority to recognize students with Reader of the week / month awards. Parents will have no say in the same and no complaints will be entertained by the school regarding the same.

OUT STATION TOURS / PICNICS

  1. The school may arrange for National / International tours / picnics for its students. These tours will be optional for the bonafide students of the school only.
  2. It is required that parents of children opting for these tours submit a copy of their passport when requested for.
  3. Although the school strives hard to bring the best opportunity to the child, the parents are requested to understand completely and verify all details regarding diet, schedule, modes of transport, places of visit, stay etc directly with the authorized selected tour company. It is important for parents to understand and accept the fact that the school is merely a facilitating medium between the students – parents and the tour operator.
  4. Students are expected to follow the directions of the tour Managers / Teachers accompanying the tour. Valuable cameras / valuable mobile phones / electronic gadgets will not be permitted.
  5. Parents and students will be able to contact each other only at stipulated times given by the tour operator. The school shall not be responsible for any last minute changes made by the tour operator.
  6. The school reserves the right to cancel the tour or change the venue due to unavoidable reasons. Likewise, room allocation and room partner allocation will be done by the teachers accompanying the students and parents will not be allowed to interfere with the same.
  7. School will not be responsible in any way for any deficiency in services by the tour operator, unfulfilled promises made by the tour operator or for any kind of claims including cancellation and refund claims.
  8. Any picnic / excursions beyond city limits will be charged. Any undisciplined behavior, misdemeanors, violence, felonies & illegal actions in any outstation tours/picnic/excursions will result in immediate deportation of the student back to the school where the student will face further disciplinary action.

PARENT CO-OPERATION

  1. Parents are expected to support and reinforce the school rules and policies and pay special attention to the school mobile policy and the school uniform policy. The school expects parents to attend parent-teacher meetings, school functions and thus show interest in the student’s school activities.
  2. Parents, guardians or other persons are not allowed to speak to the students or their teachers during class hours / transition timings without the permission of the Principal. Appointments may be made beforehand to interact during a teacher’s free period, with the approval of the Principal.
  3. Private tuitions are not encouraged by the school. If there is a real need, written permission is required from the Principal to engage a tutor at home. School Teachers are strictly not allowed to give tuition to pupils who are being taught by them and parents are requested to strictly refrain from engaging the school teachers for their ward’s private tuition.
  4. Parents are expected to cooperate in the work of the school by enforcing regularity and discipline and by taking general interest in the child’s progress.
  5. Our Security Guards are trained and efficient. Parents are expected to cooperate with them in the interest of school discipline and child safety.
  6. Parents are expected to encourage the students to speak in English. Parents should take keen interest and initiative for the academic development and fluency in English of their wards so as to maintain the school’s standard.
  7. The school will insist on strict punctuality, regular school attendance, cleanliness in dress, general grooming and fidelity to study and work assignments. Absence from school for social functions will be strongly discouraged.
  8. Students who neglect their lessons will be required to stay in school after class to complete their work.
  9. Attendance at school functions such as Children’s Day, Teacher’s Day, Sports Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, etc is very essential.
  10. Parents or guardians are specially requested to notify the school of any change in their address or telephone numbers.
  11. When communicating with the Principal, parents are requested to mention in their letters the standard, name, roll number and division in which their children are studying.
  12. Parents are requested to cooperate with the school in all its activities including planning, organizing, volunteering, sponsoring / compering events, annual day, sports day, other programs etc as and when required. Parents are also expected to voluntarily extend their expertise and knowledge in their respective fields for the betterment of students and school, if the school seeks for the same.
  13. Parents are expected to fully cooperate with the school for preparing the children for various competitions, examinations, performances etc. Parents are also expected to accompany the students for all the competitions, examinations, performances etc conducted at venues outside the school premises, if selected and recommended by the school. School does not provide any transportation services for such out of school events / activities.
  14. Parents are requested to be more vigilant and guide their child to avoid misuse of technology. It will be highly appreciated if you refrain from giving your child the most sophisticated smartphone at this tender age. School shall not be responsible for any misuse of mobile or social networking sites by students in the school or outside school premises.
  15. Parents are requested to refrain from spreading false news and rumors about school, teachers or the school management through social networking media. School shall not be held responsible for personal comments made by parents among themselves in the social media group. Parents are expected to use social media in a positive manner.
  16. Parents or guardians should as soon as possible notify the school authorities of the occurrence of any contagious or infectious disease in the house where a pupil lives, and the pupil or pupils must not be sent to school until all danger of infection is over. 
  17. Parents are requested to refrain from approaching school teachers for private tuition for their wards. Teachers are not allowed to directly or indirectly take private tuition of Witty students. Parents are requested to inform the Principal in case any teacher offers private tuition to Witty students.
  18. Parents are requested not to discuss with the members of the staff regarding their child’s/ward’s behavior and progress inside the school premises during transition.
  19. Parent Letters and Emails highlighting grave concerns will only be replied to by the Principal as and when time permits. Parents are requested to refrain from sending letters and emails for trivial issues which can otherwise be informed to the class teacher during personal PTM meetings. Worthy suggestions received from parents for the betterment of the Institution will be implemented in the due course. However, it will not be possible for the Principal to reply to each and every suggestion received from the parent community.
  20. School does not entertain any pressure from the parent community seeking removal / change of a particular teacher from a particular class / Grade / Division. The academic heads will be the sole authorities to take decisions in this regard in consultation with the Principal and their decision will be final and binding on the parents.
  21. The school reserves the right to make changes in the school’s rules and regulations, which will be regularly updated and displayed on the school website and mobile app for the information of the students and parents and the same shall be binding on all. Parents are requested not to pressurize the Principal or Management with regards to school rules and regulations.
  22. Parents are given to understand that they cannot dictate to the Principal and School management. The Management has the sole rights to admit or retain pupils in the school or cancel the admission of the student at its own discretion.
  23. School Management and the Principal will reserve the rights of promotion for any child whose parents are found to be irresponsible towards their children.

Parents are requested to give their feedback, suggestions and comments in writing through the PTM Feedback Forms or http://helpdesk.wittykidsindia.com or on the mobile application.

PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS (PTM)

  1. Parent Teacher Meetings (PTM) are conducted every two months or as per the requirement.Time slots will be allocated to each parent to meet the Class Teacher and other Teachers as required. It is expected that parents value the said opportunity and be on time to attend the parent teacher meetings when called for. 
  2. Kindly come prepared with your questions and discussion points to keep the meeting crisp, productive and healthy. 
  3. Teachers will try their level best to accommodate a parent request for change in timings for PTM, if received in writing / via email at least a week in advance. However, the same will not be a compulsion on the teacher and parents will have to adjust according to the time availability of the class teacher.
  4. Parents may give their requisition for an Online PTM and the class teacher may decide if the said request can be fulfilled or not depending on her time availability. Decision of the Class Teacher will be final and binding. This request cannot be demanded as a matter of right by any parent.
  5. Tuition teachers / any other third person is strictly not allowed to attend PTM or communicate with the school in any manner. They are strictly not allowed to attend any school meetings, events or any personal meeting with the school authorities. 
  6. Parents and Guardians may discuss with the members of the staff regarding their children / ward’s behavior and progress in school during PTMs. Previous permission of the Principal is required to visit a teacher during the school hours other than the Parent Teacher Meetings.

VISITING HOURS 

Parents, enquiries and visitors are not allowed to enter the school premises during the school transition timings. Visitor timings displayed at the entry gate are to be observed strictly. Parents and Visitors should not argue with the security guards for entry into school premises for whatever reasons during the visitor timings; unless especially called for by the school authorities. 

PARENT INTERACTION SYSTEM

Witty International School has always believed in delivering quality services to its students and its parents. We have our own website www.wittykidsindia.com. The site allows easy access to all that our Institution stands for: the philosophy, vision, administrative procedures, services provided, almanac etc. The attractive and extremely user friendly links enable both parents and students to keep up with the most recent happenings of the school. Important general announcements can be reviewed at a quick glance. The e-campus software will enable all students and parents to access the daily homework, class work, test schedules, class timetables, results, mark sheets, sample question papers, library books and several other facilities online. This facility which is updated on a daily basis will also permit you to update your communication details e.g. changing telephone, mobile phone numbers, residential / mailing addresses etc.

We are extremely proud to announce the one of its kind, first ever M-campus (Mobile Application) for our Witty students and parents which will help parents to daily access their child’s Class work, Homework, Attendance. Class Test Marks, Information Slips, Circulars, Class & Exam Timetable and daily updates on real time basis on their respective mobiles.

The user name, password and instructions to download the mobile app may be availed from our school admin department.

CONVERSION FORM

All students from Playgroup to Grade 9 will have to fill a conversion form & raise an Invoice for the next academic year as per the schedule forwarded by the school every year for admission to the next class. This will ensure natural promotion to the next class subject to the academic performance, attendance and other general rules & regulations of the school.

It will be assumed that a parent is not interested in taking admission for the next academic year if the conversion form and Invoice are not raised on or before the last date. These seats will then be filled by fresh applications.

No application will be entertained for conversion after the last date.

WITHDRAWAL / CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION

  1. A calendar months’ notice is to be given before the withdrawal of a student. This notice is to be submitted by Parent / Guardian and not by the pupil.
  2. The Leaving Certificate should be applied for in writing by the parent or guardian in the prescribed form along with No Due Certificates from the Accounts Department and Library.
  3. The school fees once paid, including the admission fees will not be refunded, adjusted or transferred under any circumstances.
  4. Pupils who leave without notice and pupils whose names are stuck off the rolls for unexplained absence of more than one month are as a rule not re-admitted.
  5. Parents are requested to notify the office on time when the student leaves the school and also clear the fees for the full academic year.
  6. The Leaving Certificate, without which a pupil cannot join any other school, shall be refused to those who have not cleared their fees and other dues.
  7. Pupils who desire to discontinue studies should take their Leaving Certificates immediately. A fee will be charged if the Certificate is taken after one year / if a duplicate is applied for. The prescribed procedure as instructed must be followed for the same.

ADMISSION CANCELLATION POLICY

Usually the school fees paid are not refundable. However, the Management may decide to refund the tuition fees paid under special circumstances. In such cases, the following Admission Cancellation and Refund Policy will be adhered to: 

If Admission is cancelled before the commencement of new academic year  

(In cases where student has not attended even a single day of school)

If Admission is cancelled before 90 days of commencement of school, Rs. 20,000/- lumpsum or 20% of  the total Tuition Fees paid to the school till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs and all PDC’s deposited, if any shall also be returned.

If Admission is cancelled between 61st  day – 90th  day before commencement of school, Rs. 25,000/- lumpsum or 25% of  the total Tuition Fees paid to the school till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs and all PDC’s deposited, if any shall also be returned.

If Admission is cancelled between 31st  day – 60th  day before commencement of school, Rs. 30,000/- lumpsum or 30% of  the overall Fees paid to the school till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs and all PDC’s deposited, if any shall also be returned.

If Admission is cancelled between 1st  day  – 30th  day of commencement of school, Rs. 50,000/- lumpsum or 50% of  the overall Fees paid to the school till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs and all PDC’s deposited, if any shall also be returned.

If Admission is cancelled after the commencement of new academic year  

(In cases where student has attended even a single day of school)

If Admission is cancelled after the commencement of school, the yearly fee payable will have to be paid by the Parent for availing the No Dues Certificate and School Leaving Certificate. 

PleaseNote : Training and Orientation fees once paid at the time of admission will not be refunded under any circumstances.Short Term Courses / Extra Curricular activities – No refund shall be done under any circumstances whether the class is attended or not attended.
