Frequently Asked Questions

Witty World is located Near City Station Road ,Patel Circle Udaipur (Raj.)313001.

There are 25 children in each PG and Nursery class with 2 trained teachers and a class maid which makes the adult child ration 1:8. In  the Jr. and Sr. KG classes there 30 children and two trained teachers and floor maids which makes the ratio 1:15.

We do not have the concept of an assistant teacher. We have co teachers therefore we do not recruit teachers without the prerequisite qualifications.

We have a dedicated medical room. Every alternate month a check up is conducted. Every month a height weight check of each child is maintained. Our staff is trained in basic first aid and we are equipped to cater to the needs of the child.

We have a well maintained outdoor facility with astro turf to keep the outdoors hygienic and free of insects and ants. Jungle gym for climbing cars and cycles, water play and sand play to provide ample learning opportunities for children.

Witty Kids does not outsource the buses. The buses are dedicatedly for the pick and drop of our children. We have CCTV surveillance, speed controls & mobile phones in the buses. We have a male and female attendant, in each bus. Our staff is trained to help children in and out of the buses. No child is handed over without checking the I cards issued by the school. If at the drop off point the adult fails to produce the I card the child is not handed over and the parent has to then come to school to pick up the child.

We have carefully chosen and sourced out developmentally appropriate equipment from the best vendors and manufacturers across the globe.

We have a very well equipped extensive library stocked with close to 500 titles.

We give our children a platform for performance from a very young age to help them get rid of stranger anxiety and stage fright. For this purpose we have a mini auditorium equipped with a child size podium to give the children a real experience.

At Witty International we have an online parent interactive system, whereby every parent will be provided with a log in ID .Our pre-primary teachers upload the daily activities of their respective classes on a daily basis, after completion of school at around 3pm.Parents can log in and catch up on their child’s day from wherever they are. A month end letter at the end of every month and regular PTMs will also keep you updated. We firmly believe that the strong partnership between parent and school is a very important determinant in successfully moulding the lives of our little ones.

Since development in children is “cephello-caudal” and “Proximo –Distal”,ie from head to toe and chest to fingers, our  pre primary programme  provides children with ample opportunities for fine motor development and eye-hand coordination to develop pre-writing skills in PG and Nur. before formal writing is introduced in Jr. KG.

Our pre-primary curriculum is a Developmentally Appropriate Programme which has been internally devised by experts in the field, within the framework of international quality guidelines. It’s a curriculum which focuses on the holistic development of the child through age appropriate activities and inculcates important learning skills in the child while also acting as a stepping stone for the syllabus in the primary section irrespective of the board .

After Sr. Kg your child will get auto promoted to our High School at Witty International School, Sukher. The School will cater to the learning needs of children from grade 1 to grade 12.

Children of this age are still in the process of finding their body balance and exploring the natural rhythms of their body, hence activities in the soft gym are more developmentally appropriate for them than an introduction to formal sports. We introduce skating from Jr.KG onwards.

We give a 20 minute break during which time we encourage our teachers to eat with the children, thus leading by example. Some basic table manners such as no talking with food in your mouth, chew with your mouth shut, do not spill food, and finish what is there in your tiffin.

No, because we believe that parents are the best judges of their children’s preferences, allergies etc…We also have a healthy respect for cultural differences in eating habits. However we do insist on healthy eating options, strictly no non-vegetarian food, no packet snacks and aerated drinks allowed. Friday will be fruit day.

We have clean hygienic washrooms. In the preschool the class is divided into 2 groups – boys and girls. They are then escorted by a teacher and a maid to the wash rooms separately.

Initially yes, because the child is being introduced to a new routine and regressions are likely to happen. It takes time for a child to settle into his new environment and develop a bond of trust with his caregiver.

Toilet training like all other learning happens after there is a period of mental and physiological readiness. We strongly recommend that you send your child to school in diapers for the initial settling period and also send along an extra pair of clothes for occasional accidents. As a matter of routine children will be taken to the toilet at regular intervals in the two hours they spend with us, so eventually they will get into the habit and develop the appropriate vocabulary. Training diapers or pull ups work best during this period.

Our teachers talk to the children in English.

During the initial settling days we try to use the language the child is comfortable with. Gradually we use sandwich approach – English – regional language – English. Slowly the child gets used to English and begins to learn the language.

We have incidental learning windows on each door which has visuals and we have provision to create wall murals based on the theme of the month. Even if the child doesn’t respond to verbal questions he will certainly respond to visual stimulus.

Our classrooms are equipped with lint free and dust free curtains and display boards. We use white board markers to avoid chalk dust.

In PG & Nur Children will be taking off their footwear in class and it would be stored neatly in colourful storage bins so that they are not scattered.

Comfortable footwear with Velcro fasteners. Please avoid sandals with heels for girls since it ruins their gait. Also refrain   from sending your child in slippers. These are formative years and improper footwear leads to improper walking style.

In the Jr. and Sr.KG children sit on child size tables and chairs.

Children will sit on the floor on soft colourful mats and will work on low work benches which have rounded edges.

Children in the PG and Nursery need place to move around. They are too young to be confined to the chair and table routine for long periods of time. Also since they are not too steady on their feet we need to have open spaces for them to minimize the incident of accidents, and most importantly sitting on the floor is the right developmental posture for this age group.
